We believe that children learn best when they are excited
and motivated to find out more. We also believe that
children learn best when their learning is purposeful and
set in real life contexts. We have therefore developed a
creative approach to our curriculum where work is set in the
context of an exciting topic and have created a range of
imaginative learning projects. Each project is
cross-curricular, designed to catch children’s interest,
improve their learning and help them express themselves.
These projects are augmented by expert teaching from
specialist teachers of PE, music and design and technology
(DT). Work in school is supplemented and enhanced by
research at home.
Underpinning these topics, there is a rigorous set of
learning objectives to support children’s progression in
each subject area. On this page you can find out more about
what is taught in each year group, as well as information
about progression in maths and literacy.
Our school is divided into phases:

• KS1 Year 1 and 2
• Lower KS2 Year 3 and 4
• Upper KS2 Year 5 and 6
