March 15th 2019

Dear Parent/Carers,

It’s been a windy end to a windy week and what better way to enjoy than with an outdoor learning day! Children (and teachers) braved the wind to take part in a variety of team based activities – with some red noses taking part as well!

In Nursery, the children have had fun using our Interactive Whiteboard and also creating some beautiful spring flower paintings. Reception have enjoyed reading ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’; creating imaginative lists of things you might need on a bear hunt. Year 2 have been busy getting ready for the Music Festival, taking part in a workshop on Wednesday. Year 3 really enjoyed making mocktails, measuring different ingredients to include and Year 6 visited Lavender Hill Magistrates Court today. Photos of these and more are in the attached newsletter.

Sustrans Big Pedal 2019

There is only one week to go until the Sustrans Big Pedal, which this runs from 25th March – 5th April. On each day of the challenge schools compete to see who can record the greatest number of pupils, staff and parents cycling, walking, scooting, skating or using a wheelchair to school. In preparation, there are some checks you can do on your bike and your scooter:

Our best five days will determine our final position and schools at the top of their leaderboards will receive a trophy. We will be entered into daily prize draws for rewards if over 15% of our school cycle, walk or scoot on each day of the challenge.

PTA Easter Egg Trail

The PTA are excited to announce Christ Church’s first ever Easter Egg Trail! The Trail will take place on Saturday 30th March and will be open between 12 and 4 p.m. It will involve following clues around the residential area surrounding the school, with the aim of collecting letters that will make an Easter related word. All correct answers will receive a small Easter egg reward at the end and will also be entered into a prize draw for a larger Easter surprise! Save the date and look out for further details to follow soon. The suggested donation is £2.00 per child. Funds raised will go towards improving the playground.
