This week I have seen the children getting lots of exercise. The infants took part in skipping workshops, held for each class, on Thursday and at the end of the day selected children were chosen to demonstrate their skills in the Hall for the whole School. I was also most impressed to see the staff skip with two ropes in their workshop! I look forward to seeing what the Juniors can do when they have their workshop on 5th June. Year 1 were also given tennis lessons this week and appear to have thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Years 3 and 4 have continued learning about the Iron Age with some food tasting and Year 5 have designed their own board games whilst learning about angles. You can see photos of these and more in the attached newsletter.
Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity – Talk for Parents – Friday 7 June 2019
For all schools in Kingston & Richmond, help is at hand with reading, spelling and homework. There will be a talk for parents on Friday 7th June 2019 from 9am – 10:30am at Collis School, Teddington. All are welcome. The presenter is Claire Hughes, an experienced specialist teacher and educational consultant with Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity. Should this be of interest to you, there is limited seating so please reserve your ticket by email to: email@example.com
Please can we remind all parents and carers who drive to school to be vigilant and mindful of pedestrians, especially small children, during the busy drop-off and pick-up times. We have been notified of an incident this week by a parent whose child was almost hit by a car in Lime Grove.
We strive to maintain the highest standards in our appearance, but have noticed recently that standards are in danger of slipping. Wearing a uniform helps both to keep the focus on education, as opposed to fashion choices, and instil a sense of school pride in our pupils. Please can parents ensure that children are sent to school in the correct uniform, in particular with regard to footwear.
Summer Fair – PTA Request
We are delighted to announce that SeOUL Residential Estate Agents will, once again, be sponsoring our upcoming fair, which will open up a potential £1,050 of funding for the school, in return for 70 local addresses to display their advertising boards, which will also advertise the fair. If you would be happy to have an agency board outside your home to advertise the fair, please email your full name and address to firstname.lastname@example.org
Y6 SATS Breakfast
The ever popular Year 6 SATs breakfast returns. This must be booked in advance and Year 6 parents should have already received an email with further details.
Please remember it is bank holiday on Monday so we are back to school on Tuesday.
I hope you all enjoy the long weekend.
