It was lovely to see so many of you at our Christmas service this morning. We were able to celebrate the coming of Christmas with some beautiful carol singing – and solos – as well as each class creative retelling of part of the Christmas story.
The end of this term is also the end of the year and this year really has been a year of superlatives:
- The longest term ever
- The most horrible bugs
- The highest place in the league tables
- The greatest number of children taking part in sports competitions
- The greatest number of nativities
- Most memorable moment as we took part in the 100 years’ remembrance service
- Highest earning fair
- Most powerful singers
- And of course we are expecting the most new arrivals (one has already come)
I would like to thank the children and staff for all their incredible hard work and the parents for all your support. Thank you in particular for your very generous gifts which will enable us to have a fantastic lunch on our INSET day.
You can see photos of this morning’s service, as well as our Year 2 and Year 4 choirs entertaining audiences this week at the Methodist Church and Speirs House Nursing Home and this afternoon’s junior staff pantomime in the attached bulletin.

I escorted Father Christmas to each of the Christmas parties yesterday afternoon and it was lovely to see the fun the children were having. I know teachers, and most parents, felt that the new system for ordering food was much better and a lot less food was left over.
I would like thank Mr Shabbeer for all his hard work and support as our Office Apprentice over the last year and a half. As his last day with us is today we wish him all the best for the future.
Closing Dates – Reception/Nursery Applications 2019
Please note that the closing date for on-line applications for Reception 2019 is Tuesday, 15th January 2019. The closing date for Nursery applications is Friday, 8th March 2019.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday 8th January, following an INSET day on Monday 7th January.
I also wish us all time to reflect on the real meaning of Christmas in our lives, schools, and communities.
God of hope, who brought love into this world,
be the love that dwells between us.
God of hope, who brought peace into this world,
be the peace that dwells between us
God of hope, who brought joy into this world,
be the joy that dwells between us.
God of hope, the rock we stand upon,
be the centre, the focus of our lives
always, and particularly this special time.
