February 14th 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have made it to half term! I’m sure the children are all ready for the break after working so hard this half term. This week Reception have enjoyed reading Aliens Love Underpants and have written letters to the Aliens. Years 1 and 2 have been improving their skills in poetry writing and Year 4 have been writing fact files about life in Ancient Rome. Year 6 have been busy completing their diary entries about what life would have been like in the workhouse as well as participating in a trip to Chessington for Junior Citizenship Day on Tuesday. In sport, this morning our Year 6 netball team participated in a competition at Kingston Grammar School and although they didn’t make it through to the group stage, they gave a great performance.

Reminder: Closing dates for Nursery Applications 2020

Please note that the closing date for on-line applications for Nursery applications is Friday, 6th March 2020.

Junior Music Concert – Friday 20th March

I am sure that many of the junior parents will have heard from excited children that they are auditioning to take part in the upcoming music concert on Friday 20th March. If your child is one of them, do pencil the date in your diary, as I know they would love you to attend if they are successful.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Please see the attached advice received from the Director of Public Health Kingston Council in relation to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Parking in private car park

It has been reported that some parents have been using a private car park for flats in Lime Grove at drop-off and pick up. There was also an incident on Monday where a car was reversing out of the car park drive and nearly hit a child. Please only park in designated spaces for the safety of our children and to avoid disruption to our neighbours.

Some else collecting your child

If someone else is collecting your child, please let the class know in advance by emailing the class. Class email addresses are “class name”@ccnm.rbksch.org e.g., potter@ccnm.rbksch.org, seahorse@ccnm.rbksch.org . If it is a very last minute change, during the school day, please contact the school office as the email may not be seen.

Casting Call

VJN Casting have informed us that they are currently conducting a casting search with Jina Jay Casting for an exciting television opportunity. They are looking for girls aged 9-11 with Korean heritage that live in the UK and will be available for filming in Budapest from May 2020 – July 2020. More information can be found on the attached flyer.

Lunchtime Thunk

The thunk this week is ‘Do you miss someone more when they’re away from you or when you’re away from them?’

I wish you all a pleasant and restful half term.

Best wishes,

Tabitha White, Headteacher
