We didn’t have much snow, but we did build a snowman! The children were very excited coming in to school today, and made the most of the snow we had. Year 6 have worked together to create weather forecasts; I am not sure whether they forecast the snow!
We’ve been back to ancient Greece this week, with Years 3 and 4 learning through their theatre workshop. They had fun being soldiers and building walls. There has been cooking, too, Year 2 made some oat and raisin cookies and Years 5 and 6 made some nutritious energy bars. On Monday, Year 1 visited the church and sketched some of the things they saw. There are photos of these, and more, in the attached newsletter.
Spring Cleaning? ‘Recycle with Michael’ and help raise money for the school!
We have registered with the Salvation Army’s ‘Recycle with Michael’ this year as a way of helping us all be a little more green! The Eco Leaders will introduce the scheme to every class. Your child will shortly bring home a bag for you to fill with clothes, shoes and household linen. Please bring this to school before the Friday 8th March, when the Salvation Army will come to collect and weigh the bags. Christ Church then receives a percentage of the value of all the recycled materials. See www.recyclewithmichael.co.uk for further information.
NOTE: We will start with all unnamed and uncollected items of clothing which have been left at school for several weeks in order to reduce the lost property mountain! Please can I urge you to name all your children’s clothes to ensure lost items can be quickly returned as it so frustrating to see expensive items of clothing in lost property which we are unable to reunite with their owner.
