Today, children from every class have been outdoors completing numeracy farm-related activities. It was chilly, and a bit wet, but all we braved the elements and had a huge amount of fun! Dressed as farmers and or animals, we certainly looked the part, too. Whether it was working as a team to solve number problems, avoiding a fall into the smelly micro-pig sty, jumping into pens to find the most numbers related to a problem and or measuring how far our wellies travelled, we were all challenged. Thank you for your help with dressing your children as farmers/animals and for your kind donations too, which we hope will allow us to have micro-pigs in school (outdoor!) for at least one week during the summer term. Do look at the photos in the newsletter.
Today, your child should have come home with next term’s curriculum newsletters. If you have not seen it, do click below for the relevant newsletter:

Dressing Up Days – Next Half Term
We have two whole school dressing-up days coming up. We do understand that some children (and parents) enjoy these days more than others do, so to make it easier we do accept a relaxed interpretation of the theme!
• Wednesday 14th March – INFANTS ONLY – Olympian visit, children dress in sports clothes/kit.
• Wednesday 15th March – JUNIORS ONLY – Olympian visit, children dress in sports clothes/kit.
• Friday 23rd March – International Day, dress up in national costume or in some colours from a flag.
• Wednesday 28th March – INFANTS ONLY – Easter Bonnet Parade, children wear an Easter bonnet that they have made or decorated.
Apart from Nursery, children in the rest of the school will not be dressing up for World Book Day. We will be marking the day with a number of fun activities, but we will not be asking children to dress up, because of all the other opportunities during the term.
Thank you to all the parents who made the recent discos such a success and to the children who demonstrated their dance moves! The amount raised for the PTA was a fantastic £1,170!
Well done to Years 1 and 6 with last Friday’s cake sales, they raised the following:
• Year 1: £264.25
• Year 6: £132.20
The Year 6 takings included a single £40 donation from one parent and another for £10, both handed into the school office this week. The final class cake sales are for Reception and Year 5 and will take place on Friday 9th March. Reception will be raising money for ducklings again, which proves to be very popular with the children! Year 5 will be raising money towards their trip to Kidzania later in the year.

If your journey to/from school by car involves this section of Elm Road, across the level crossing, please be aware that you will need to make alternative arrangements.

Dressing Up and Fabric
The Outdoor Team would like to express a huge thank you for all the wonderful donations they have received; we really are thrilled and we know the children will enjoy using them! As the weather warms, they are planning to create a theatre/dressing up area for use during playtime, to enhance imaginative play. Your kind donations will allow us to develop this setting splendidly.
