July 10th 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

This week we have started to say our goodbyes for this year to children from Fox, Lion, Eagle and Antelope, who were able to join us for a last visit. It is lovely to think that from September we will all be back together in our normal classes of 30. I do hope you will be able to join us on Thursday for our end of term service, even if virtually! We will be showing it in school at 9.30 a.m. and children at home may wish to join us in spirit at the same time.

Partnership for Children Resources

Partnership for Children was set up in September 2001 to promote the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young children. They offer a series of school-based programmes to help young children around the world to communicate effectively, cope with their anxieties and difficulties, and to develop skills for life.  They have produced some free wellbeing activities to help children find healthy ways to deal with their feelings and reactions to the Covid-19 situation. Please see their website for further details.

Summer Holidays

Please could families take extra care when booking holidays this year. We will not be able to authorise any absence as a result of self-isolation if it is clear that it was known at the time of booking that there would be a need to self-isolate on return from a country. We want a very speedy and settled start to next term after such a disrupted year.

Connect

We are delighted to be able to confirm that we will be able to reopen Connect (both before school and after) from the start of September. There will be changes, in order to keep everyone safe. We will create four separate bubbles:

  • Reception
  • KS1 (Years 1 and 2)
  • Lower Juniors (Years 3 and 4)
  • Upper Juniors (Years 5 and 6)

The Infant ‘bubbles’ will be on the infant site. Indeed Reception will now be in Seahorse classroom. The Junior ‘bubbles’ will be on the junior site in the junior hall and the creative zone. We are currently recruiting more staff in order to be able to make this work and to provide enough spaces for everyone. We will be able to provide breakfast on each site. Unfortunately, we will only initially be able to provide snacks after school, so we would ask children to bring a packed tea. Please see the website for information about booking. If you have any queries, do email connect@ccnm.rbksch.org.

School Uniform sale

There will be a second hand school uniform sale on Wednesday 15th July starting at 8.30 a.m. at the Infant site (in order to co-incide with drop off times). Please could anyone attending the sale take great care to socially distance in order to protect everyone’s safety. All the clothes will have been set aside for at least 72 hours before the sale and the people running the sale will be wearing gloves and masks. There will be another sale on 1st September.

Support for emotional wellbeing

Please see the attached guidance from our Junior Pastoral Mentor, Claire Stevens, for this week’s suggestions about ways of looking after our wellbeing.

Yours sincerely,

Tabitha White
