We’ve had another extremely busy week. It has been lovely to see the children enjoying spending time in their new classrooms and meeting their new teachers. I also really enjoyed watching pupils from Year 2 and 4 at the Country Dance Festival on Tuesday. There was such a positive community feel. They all worked extremely hard and I was impressed by how well they managed all the complicated dance steps. Year 3 were very excited to have their photo taken for the Steve McQueen art project on Wednesday, which is to be displayed in the Tate Britain. On Thursday, we also had lots of fun at the Juniors, where classes set up stalls to raise money for ‘Enterprise Week’. These funds will be used to start saving schemes for each child. Year 2 came up to the Juniors to take part as well, and there was much enthusiasm from all the children to see who could raise the most profit! This morning I saw many of you at our Junior Sports Day and I’m sure you’ll agree that it was a fantastic effort from everyone involved. We have enjoyed an action replay this afternoon through a montage of photos.
Thank you to Miss Sinclair
We would like to congratulate Miss Sinclair on being awarded a post in another school in our cluster. It is lovely that she will still be local to us. I would like to thank her all for her hard work teaching Turtle class. I am impressed by how smooth the transition has been.
Paul Aagaard, our lunchtime consultant, is meeting with Parent Reps in the Infant Hall on Friday 12th July at 2 p.m. to discuss his new plans. I would like to extend an invitation to this meeting to all parents/carers who would like to come in and join us to hear his proposals. ISS will also be offering an opportunity to sample food from their menu.
Increase in Hot Meal price from September
The contract between ISS and RBK allows for an increase in the charge to the school for hot meals in September each year. Whilst in previous years the school has absorbed any increase, this year the pressure on budgets means we are unable to do so. This means that the price of a hot meal, which has been £2.20 since September 2015, will increase by 10p to £2.30.

Now we need your help to raise £2,000 in order to fully benefit from the scheme as this will enable us to earn DOUBLE what you donate. Additional Staff required for Connect
Our After School Club, Connect@ Christ Church, is dedicated to providing outstanding extended care: engaging children in various activities, inside and outside, and preparing, serving and supervising breakfast and tea. We are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic people who have a commitment to high quality child care and who are passionate about working with children to join the team. It is vitally important to us that the children have an enjoyable experience. If you are someone who likes helping children and would be able to organise and supervise a wide variety of different activities (sporting, academic and relaxing) with children and support and help serve tea then we are interested in hearing from you. Please go to the job vacancies page of the school’s website
Lunchtime Supervisors Required
We are looking for lunchtime supervisors to join the team at the juniors looking after our children at lunchtimes and ensuring that the children have a happy and safe time. Lunchtime Supervisors look after children when they play in the playground and when they eat their lunch in the school hall including checking that they have the correct meal. The hours of work are 12.15 p.m. to 1.20 p.m. Monday-Friday during Term Time plus a half termly meeting. For more information go to the vacancies page on our website.
