It has been a week filled with sport and music! On Monday, everybody had the opportunity to meet Darius Knight, and take part in some fitness activities, wonderfully organised by Miss Bruen and Mrs Day. Any sponsorship money for that event needs to be handed in by Monday 26th June.
On Monday and Thursday, I was at the Rose Theatre to see performances by the Year 2 choir (Monday) and the Year 6 choir (Thursday). The children sang beautifully; Mrs Huggett has done an amazing job teaching them some very challenging songs.
This morning I had the privileged of watching the Year 3-5 music concert. The children performed with great confidence, demonstrating real skill. We had singers, violinists, pianists, brass and woodwind – we even had our first ukulele and kazoo duo! Mrs Bishop does a fantastic job organising these concerts, and they go from strength to strength.
You can see photos of all these events, and more, in the attached newsletter.
Bling Your Bike – Friday 30th June
On Friday, the 30th June, children from Reception to Year 6 are encouraged to decorate their bike or scooter for Bling Your Bike day. It is part of a project being run by Go Kingston and Bike It. They say:
This is an opportunity for every student to decorate their bike or scooter to make it as flashy as you can, and then ride it to school! The bikes or scooters should be DECORATED AT HOME before next Friday, and there should be no limit to the amount of creativity applied! Anything particularly shiny or funky is particularly welcome.
There will be fantastic prizes on offer for the most imaginative decoration of bikes or scooters, and we will show off some of them in assembly. As Year 5 are on a trip that day, they will bling their bikes later on in the term

We want to keep as much space as possible for children on the float so will be keeping adult number to a safe minimum – if you have any questions or concerns please do email, Kay Peeling and Leanne Harri email@example.com
