We have made it to the end of a very busy first week back after half term! The skipping workshop on Monday was a lovely way to start the second half of the summer term. The children really enjoyed themselves and I was very impressed by their skills and excellent behaviour. Reception have been learning about animals that live in the ocean and Year 2 have been writing postcards from the perspective of the snail in ‘The Snail and the Whale’. Years 3 and 4 have been learning all about rivers, and Year 6 have intriguingly been writing a sales pitch asking adults to buy a ‘Child Pleaser’ machine. Our Year 6 Girls’ Cricket team also did well on Wednesday at the Kingston Borough Kwik Cricket competition. It was lovely to receive so many compliments about both their playing and their manners. You can see photos of some of these and more in the attached newsletter.
Charity Walk for Peace – Juniors
On Friday 28th June, our school is hosting a Charity Walk for Peace ® (CWFP) on the school playing field. Teachers and junior pupils will be provided with a short presentation of the work of the Charity which explains that 100% of all donations collected are distributed back to charitable causes. The pupils will walk around the internal perimeter of the field three times and upon completion will be awarded a medal and certificate. The Charity will also be providing refreshments as approved by the school. This first walk is to raise awareness of the charity and its peaceful “Love for all, hate for none” message. We hope you will encourage your children to participate, and you are also invited to participate yourselves. CWFP’s national charity walk is 2 days after our school walk and they expect over 4,000 participants raising over £1million in 2019. To date they have raised £5.2 million and distributed these funds to UK based charities and schools, ours included. For further information their website address is: https://charitywalkforpeace.org/
I have already shared with you that we are working with a consultant, Paul Aagaard, in an effort to improve our school lunch experience. He would now like to meet with Parent Reps to discuss his proposals and give them the opportunity to offer feedback on Friday 12th July at 2:00pm at the Infants.

Gates at Juniors
Please can you keep younger children behind the painted yellow line until the gate opens – if they climb on / shake the gates then the sensor which prevents an accident will stop the gates opening automatically which is frustrating for us all.
