What a lovely week it has been! The children have settled in much more smoothly than I expected! They have been so excited to see their friends and play together. We are still getting used to the noise once more, but it is very welcome! It has also been great to see the nursery using their new climbing frame and mud kitchen. The timing of its installation could not have been better. Thank you so much to the PTA and Jason Brown for all the planning and to all of you for all your fundraising. I do suspect that they are all very tired now and that you see the evidence this weekend. I hope you manage to get some refreshing time outside and that everyone sleeps very well.
Keeping Everyone Safe
We are delighted that we have not had a single positive case in school this week. Staff are testing themselves on Sundays and Wednesdays so that we can identify any possible infection very rapidly. We would seek your support in also continuing to test at home. We know there were difficulties in accessing tests last Sunday, but Kingston is advising that tests should be still available and indeed that it will be possible to have a lateral flow test on site from 15th March if you prefer. The Government is recommending that households, child care bubbles and support bubbles should all test themselves twice a week. This would provide a great reassurance to everyone that we are keeping our children and therefore our families as safe as possible.
Thank you to those people who have already expressed interest in either childcare on the two INSET days or a holiday club. We are therefore planning a holiday club from Monday 26th- Friday 30th July and Monday 23rd August to Wednesday 1st September (INSET day). We are also planning to offer Connect Plus on the two INSET days. We cannot quite tell if we have enough bookings to make it viable. However, we know that it will be important for people to know for sure if it will go ahead. We would therefore ask people to express a firm interest by Wednesday 24th March (and indicate the days) using the form emailed to parents/carers.
Do remember to ensure that your junior child has a set of headphones or earphones that they can keep in school from next Monday. They will be using them next week.
Please could you label your child’s uniform clearly with their name this weekend, if you have not already done so. A sharpie or a biro will work perfectly well and can be speedy to use. Every week we seem to have a number of unclaimed items and we cannot find the owners. We are also not able to keep a central store of lost property.

They are made up of local parents who are passionate about improving the local facilities and activities for all our children. Meeting regularly with a wide range of agencies and service providers in Kingston, including the council, children’s services, health, and education they are able to give feedback on the availability, quality, and effectiveness of services in the borough, and to challenge when changes or improvements need to be made.
