It has been lovely to see special items appear around the school, as classes spend the £200 kindly donated by the PTA. There is a real buzz as mud kitchens, water play units and sound systems are delivered. I know there is still more to come! Thank you so much for your generosity. These are the things that make a real difference to the children’s enjoyment of school.
I am writing with mixed emotions as I contemplate next week. I am thrilled to be able to share that Miss Bruen will be getting married at half term. I know that you will join us in wishing a very special day and every happiness in the years to come. I am sad to announce that Mrs Erlebach will be leaving us at half term in order to spend more time with her family. I would like to thank her for all the support she has given to both Year 5 and Year 6, in her calm and positive way. We will certainly miss her, but wish her well for the future.
Thank you to all the families who contacted us to say they would help look after our pigs in the holidays. We want to make sure that we prepare really carefully for the welfare of the pigs and so we are going to spend this term raising funds and researching and then hope to purchase the pigs in September. I know that we will really welcome support in future holidays. As a first step, Miss Pratt and I are both going on a course on 10th June which promises to be a ‘comprehensive guide to pig keeping’. This is becoming a rather surprising but fun addition to my job description!
It is not too late to book places at Connect Plus on 2nd and/or 5th July (our INSET days). It will run from 9am – 4pm on each day and there will be an exciting set of activities, including soap making, a scavenger hunt, bubble blowing, card making, pond dipping and seed planting. Cost is £34.50 full day. To book a place, please visit – https://christchurchnm.kidsclubhq.co.uk/rdr?u=book&id=4164
We’d like to say a big thank you to Mr Fellows for tidying up the pond area. It looks fantastic. The classes are very keen to use it.
