Last Friday Herriot Class visited Discover Children’s Story Centre in London. Their Story World and immersive exhibitions provide a wide range of interactive activities that use creative play to engage children and support development of communication, creativity and literacy skills. On Tuesday, despite the cold and wet weather, some of our Year 6 boys participated in the Kingston Schools Sports Partnership football qualifiers. The children in nursery have been learning about doctors, this week. If you had popped into nursery, you may well have been asked what is wrong with you! It was lovely, this morning, to be able to welcome Mrs Coltman and her family to junior assembly. The children were all very excited – it is not every day we have a two-week-old visitor, like George! You can see photos of all this, and more, in the attached newsletter.
We are always excited about the range of clubs that we have. To see the list of clubs we will be offering next term, please click here. Following parent requests, we are delighted that we are expanding our dance offering and that Miss Emily Hampton will be offering a club, Ready, Set, Dance for infants on Monday mornings and juniors on Friday mornings, in addition to the clubs that Miss O’Connor runs on Wednesday and Thursday. Next Friday, the club page will be updated with links to the booking information for each club. Therefore, please note we will no longer be emailing you with club letters detailing registration information.
Christmas Fair – Saturday 1st December
Only 1 week to go until our Christmas Fair. Thank you for all the donations that have been brought in so far. Below are the times for the school music groups that are performing at the Fair. The children will need to arrive by the stage in the junior hall ten minutes before their slot. They do not wear school uniform but Christmas hats etc. would be great!
- Year 3/4 Choir – 1 p.m.
- Year 2 Choir – 2 p.m.
- School Orchestra – 2:30 p.m.
Christmas Tree Sale
If you are buying a real tree this year then think about buying it from outside the Methodist Church in the High Street on Saturday 1st or 8th December. Profits go to one of a number of local schools including us. Please mention Christ Church when you buy – so we get our share.
Year 3 Cake Sale
Year 3 managed to raise £200.93 at their cake sale last Friday. This was an amazing effort and the money raised will go towards a theatre workshop in the spring term.
Christmas School Concert – 6th December
This year’s concert in the Church will take place on Thursday 6th December at 7 p.m.
The Lunchbowl Network are very excited to have an online Christmas gifts page this year, which you can access at the following link.
In addition, we are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work with Year 4, for more details click here.
Updating your Information
In previous years we have sent out paper copies of the data we hold about your child and you for you to check and update. Capita who provide our MIS system have launched a mobile app which allows you to keep this up to date / inform of changes of contact details etc. Capita will be sending you an email soon telling you how to login.
In the meantime, please can you consider who to include as your emergency contacts and in which order we should contact them and also which contact numbers we should use to contact you (for example if you are unable to access your mobile at work then we will need another number). Unfortunately, there have been a few occasions recently when we have been unable to contact anyone when children have been very distressed following an accident.
