Today, a team from BAE Systems (a defence, aerospace and security solutions company) came from their office in New Malden to challenge Years 5 and 6. You can read more about it in the attached newsletter, but it has been fascinating to see how the children have worked together to create their marble runs. This half-term, all children in Years 1 and 2 are having a clay workshop and, yesterday, Orange class were visited by local art specialist, Meg Vernon, who taught them pottery skills.
After half-term, the days of some class’ PE lesson have changed. Here is the up to date list of when PE lessons normally happen. Of course, there are always occasions where a lesson does not happen, if the class are doing something else.
|Year 1 – Orange Class||Thursday||Tuesday|
|Year 1 – Red Class||Wednesday||Tuesday|
Please could you ensure your child has a full PE kit in school every day. There are still children regularly having to borrow items for PE lessons. The only exception is trainers, where children can bring in trainers for their outside PE day.
As the weather gets cold, do please ensure that your children have suitable clothing for outside play. Please also make sure that it is all clearly named!

DT Lessons – Help Needed – 4G
If you are able to help Mrs Pallister with DT lessons on Monday afternoons, please let the office know.
Traffic at the Playing Field
If you drive to drop or collect your children from our playing field, please be aware that you cannot drive up or park on the short driveway leading up to the gates of Corpus Christi school. Please also be aware that the part of Chestnut Grove between Elm Road and Mount Road is one way, as the police are concerned that some parents are driving or reversing down it, the wrong way.
There are poppies available at both Infant and Junior site offices. Do join us at the New Malden Remembrance Parade on 12th November. Two of our children will be carrying a wreath for the mayor and two on behalf of the school, to remember those who have been injured or even given up their lives for others. The service will be held at the War Memorial at 9.30am.
Wednesday – Girls’ Football Club
The girls’ football club after school on Wednesdays will not be carrying on this half term. We expect that it will restart later in the spring term.
The Malden Centre
The Malden Centre is turning thirty. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Everyone is welcome to come and join in their birthday celebrations on Saturday 25th November.
They have lots of exciting taster sessions planned for all ages. Why not go along and try something new? See the attached flyer for all the information.
