It is always lovely walking around school and seeing what the children are doing. This week, I have watched reception children explore the dynamics of the marble run, Year 1 discovering dinosaurs and Year 5 imagining what it would be like to be married to Henry VIII. Do ask your children what they have most enjoyed this week.
Donation from Parents
One of the highlights of the Christmas and summer fairs is the Korean food. The parents who run the stall are sad at not being able to support the school this way this year, so have raised £570, which they have donated to school. We are very grateful to the parents for this very generous gift.
Parents’ Evenings & Year 6 Learning Reviews
These are both taking place by telephone on Tuesday 6th October and Thursday 8th October between 4.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. You will have received a separate email with more details for each of these. Please note that we will be allocating a specific time for the Reception to Year 5 meetings, but we would like to be more flexible with the Year 6 reviews and commit to phoning you within a wider time slot. This will let us manage the complexity of both English and mathematics reviews in the same evening. Nursery will also be using the same system as Year 6 and teachers will call parents within the 4.00 p.m. – 7. 00 p.m. timeslot.
Coronavirus – When to get a test
Please see this letter from NHS Test & Trace about when you should get a test for your child.
A reminder that we are a nut free school – please do not send your child in with any product that contains nuts – proximity to or contact with them is potentially life threatening for those children with allergies to them.
Secondary School Applications – Year 6 parents
If you haven’t already done so, please apply online for your child’s secondary school place. You can name up to six schools in your application including academy or free schools and schools in other council areas. The closing date for applications is 31 October 2020. We will not be offering an in-school talk this year, but you are most welcome to phone us if you would like any advice on completing your application.
